Events
The band gives many public performances throughout the year, including the annual Worcestershire Youth Music Gala Concert at Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the MENCAP Christmas Carol Concert held at Worcester Cathedral together with other concerts in and around the county.
WYBB members also undertake many fundraising events throughout the year, including bag packing at local supermarkets, sponsored leg waxing (by 2 of the lads in the band) and ‘Sunday Lunch'
WYBB also participate at the National Youth Brass Band Championships, and in 2009 retained their silver award.
In September 2009 members of the band competed at the Wychavon Festival of Brass Entertainments Competition and wre awarded 5 th place by adjudicator John Berryman. George Culwick, our principal EEb Bass player was also awarded best soloist for his performance of The Bare Necessities, arranged by Leigh Baker.
