WYBB members undertake many fundraising events throughout the year. During the Christmas period the band play carols for the local public and they have done bag packing in local supermarkets. In 2008 the band played in Trafalgar Square for the launch of the well known soap opera Neighbours on chanel 5 along with over 200 other brass players. MD Nicky Daw was able to stand next to Ian Smith (Harold Bishop) who played the tuba!! The band also give many performances throughout the year. In April 2008 the band took part in the National Youth Brass Band Championship and successfully retained their silver award.
